As Iowa becomes submerged, environmentalists and global warming believers like myself are beginning to wonder how much proof Americans need before they realize what is happening to our world.
Scientists are currently predicting that the early consequences of global warming will be stronger, more erratic weather behavior. Some are now pointing to Iowa as the latest example of this. They have been saying it for years, as shown in this PDF issued by the National Wildlife Federation, or this from the Environtmental Defense Fund.
Both of these were issued in response to the Iowa Flood of 1993, and both said that 100 year floods (floods that typically happen in a given area once in 100 years) could happen as frequently as every 10 years by 2090. Now, 15 years later, some sources are reporting that the Iowa Flood of 2008 may be a 500 year flood.

I’m very sorry to see the tragedy that has hit Iowa. However,it has nothing to do with global warming.
Is Global warming man made?
Yes
Global warning is man made all right.
It’s made up – by man.
And it’s being used to screw you over.
The elites have a “Agenda” and they are using the idea of global warming – fronted by the “Green Movement” to push their “Agenda”.
Renewable energy, high food prices, high fuel prices and failing economies are are all part of their “Agenda”, to crush the industrialized world.
What is the ultimate aim of these elite – psychopaths, sociopaths and so called world leaders.
They have two aims.
1) A New world order.
2) Massive depopulation.

You know, don’t be so quick to jump on the “It’s Global Warming!” bandwaggon. There have been floods for thousands of years – just because a flood happens in 2008 is not per se proof of global warming. Besides, global temperatures have dropped for 10 consecutive years and the Antarctic winter has lengthened by a day per year for almost as long. So the effects of the 90’s warming spell are probably not to blame for Iowa.

As a somebody has understood the evidence of global warming I think no amount of evidence will be enough for those who deny global warming.
Those who deny have this need to prove to themselves that there is no global warming so their core argument is that earth has been warming and cooling since forever and so any event, any fluctuation is normal. – hmm should write a post about that aspect of global warming deniers too.
