Saudi Arabia is planning to show how alarmed the nation is by Americans who are tired of paying oil conglomerates and foreign nations money out of their pockets.

On Sunday, June 22, the Kingdom is hosting a conferenceto discuss finding a solution to towering gas prices in America and across the globe.  Although most experts don’t expect any real results from this meeting, it highlights how much money Americans feed to foreign nations for our oil.  Whether politicians will admit that oil creates a dependence on outside sources and decreases our independence as a nation or not, Saudi Arabia is willing to admit it.

This conference comes on the heels of a report that suggests that global oil consumption is decreasing for the first time since 1993.  Maybe something good can come out of absurd oil prices after all.

Chevrol CEO David O’Reilly appeared on “The Situation Room” with Wolf Blitzer yesterday to answer the question every American wants an answer to: Why are you getting richer instead of poorer like us?

Unfortunately, O’Reilly decided it best to feed us the same baloney he and his money-hungry cronies have been giving us for years.  “We’re investing those record profits,” he said when questioned about his companies $18.7 billion 2007 profit.  For those interested, $18.7 billion is more than enough to provide wind energy to completely fuel 1,308,051 American homes using current technology.

I can’t believe it took me this long to figure out the old site header said “Because the every voice matters… Even mine.”  People, that doesn’t make any sense!

So… umm… sorry I made us all look dumb.  Enjoy the site!

While surfing around WordPress I came across THIS BLOG POST on Messages From Hell, another unusually named blog around here. I’m ecstatic about the idea that a water fueled vehicle may be within our grasp!

Below is a report by Gizmodo.com on the fascinating new car. The original web posting by them can be found HERE. Both Gizmodo and Messages From Hell have a really cool YouTube movie of the car in action, but I’m going to make you visit their sites to see it. Read it and weep (for joy)!

“Genepax Unveils a Car That Runs on Water and Air

Running a car on water has been the holy grail for car manufacturers for some time now, but it appears that a Japanese company named Genepax may have pulled ahead of the competition with a prototype vehicle that runs entirely on water and air. Their new “Water Energy System (WES),” generates power by supplying water and air to the fuel and air electrodes using a proprietary technology called the Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA). The secret behind MEA is a special material that is capable of breaking down water into hydrogen and oxygen through a chemical reaction.

Not surprisingly, Genenpax has kept the exact details of their technology under wraps, but they did say that their new process, while based on existing technology, is expected to produce hydrogen from water for longer time than any method currently available. Furthermore, WES does not require a hydrogen reformer, a high-pressure hydrogen tank, or any special catalysts to get the job done.

During a recent conference, Genepax unveiled a fuel cell stack with a rated output of 120W and a fuel cell system with a rated output of 300W—and there are plans for a 1kw-class generation system for use in both electric vehicles and houses sometime in the future. At this point, the cost of production on the water-powered vehicle engine itself is around about ¥2,000,000 (US$18,522), but they hope to drop the price to ¥500,000 (US$4600) or less if they succeed in bringing it into mass production.”

Environmentalists are making headway in preventing America from becoming even more dependant on foreign energy.

The Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council, two groups fighting to prevent the expansion of oil drilling and coal burning, succeeded in blocking ConocoPhillips from expanding a oil processing plant.  The plant, located in Roxana, IL, has been used by the oil conglomerate to process Canadian oil for use by Americans.  By stopping the deal, greenies have avoided ConocoPhilllips from sending even more of the money we pay for our energy to the Canadian government.

I recently received a comment on a post of mine which entertained the notion that the flooding in Iowa is directly related to global warming. Here is a link to said comment within my own blog. I invite you to read that comment before continuing reading this post.

Thank you, atomcat, for your opinions. Now, let me address some issues I have with this comment. First, whoever truly believes that global warming has been invented by elitists whos aims include:

“1) A New world order.

2) Massive depopulation.”

is scarcely qualified to place an order at McDonald’s, let alone try and alter the minds of the world. Our entire existence is at stake. All that we currently know could drastically change in our future if we don’t change what we are doing to the environment.

While I am very glad atomcat visited this blog and brought such ignorance into focus, I hope that those who read this blog will also take the time to visit atomcat’s blog HERE. If you are ever in need of pure, spoon-fed propaganda spit out to corrupt our well-meaning world, give it a look.

I would like everyone to know I will always, always include your comments, unedited, on this blog. Unlike atomcat, every voice is valued here, positive and negative, and while I will argue with you if I disagree, you better believe you will be published gladly.

Lastly, I want to ask everyone out there who understands how crucial the issue of global warming is to speak out to naysayers. While we cannot accurately gauge exactly how dire our situation is, we can be confident our time is limited. Support this cause. At the least, you will be making our nation and world stronger.

As Iowa becomes submerged, environmentalists and global warming believers like myself are beginning to wonder how much proof Americans need before they realize what is happening to our world.

Scientists are currently predicting that the early consequences of global warming will be stronger, more erratic weather behavior. Some are now pointing to Iowa as the latest example of this. They have been saying it for years, as shown in this PDF issued by the National Wildlife Federation, or this from the Environtmental Defense Fund.

Both of these were issued in response to the Iowa Flood of 1993, and both said that 100 year floods (floods that typically happen in a given area once in 100 years) could happen as frequently as every 10 years by 2090. Now, 15 years later, some sources are reporting that the Iowa Flood of 2008 may be a 500 year flood.

If Katrina was the first wake up call about global warming for America, number two is here.

I was listening to The Mike Malloy Show last night (XM Radio channel 167) on my way home from work. While I don’t support a lot of what the man says, I was very interested by a guest he had on the show. It seems Vincent Bugliosi, an American lawyer and writer.

Bugliosi was introducing a book he recently wrote titled The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder (2008, Perseus Books) which details the lawyers grounds for legally charging Bush for murder. He presents several interesting facts I hadn’t heard before. First, Bugliosi says that before unveiling the idea of war to the American public, Bush considered pressuring Saddam Hussein into attacking the US. This really strikes me as insane. If true, this means that Bush wanted Iraq to attack the States militarily, and as there is no way Saddam could have sent troops in any reasonable number, it tells us he wanted Iraq to be creative. That, to me, is alarming.

In another revelation, Bugliosi claims that Bush altered a document known as the “White Paper” to make Saddam seem more dangerous to America than he really was. The original draft of this statement, issued as a National Intelligence Estimate , stated that while Iraq may have had WMD’s, Saddam wouldn’t use them except in self defense. Less than a week after that document was released (and the altered by Bush), the President gave a speech which said that Iraq was willing to attack America with a stockpile of WMD’s at any time.

Now I’m not a fan of extremists, and thus I’m not a fan of Bugliosi trying Bush for the murder of 4,000 US troops or the roughly 100,000 Iraqi civilians killed in our Middle Eastern misadventure. However, if Clinton was impeached for sleeping around, I think Bush could be ushered out of office over this.

I hope to get a copy of this book soon, and I strongly encourage you to look into these allegations yourself.

The Economist, 2008

Only four years, but a world of difference.

It’s too bad I don’t have time to comment on how Limbaugh is tearing apart his party and how absolutely insane he really is.  Of course, I guess that’s pretty much I have to say about him anyway.

Here’s a fun article about him crushing Republican candidate McCain.  Enjoy.
